Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for People with Disability in Uganda (CoRSU) is a specialized rehabilitation hospital established in 2009 as a local NGO to provide high quality rehabilitation and surgical services to people with disabilities in Uganda. CoRSU’s vision is that people with disabilities in Uganda are able to access rehabilitation services that improve their quality of life and that they are fully integrated into society. Their mission is to be a center of excellence in Uganda providing orthopaedic and plastic reconstructive surgery and comprehensive rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, prioritizing children.
A spectrum of surgical and rehabilitation services is provided to people with disabilities at CoRSU. These services are spread across broad categories of hospital-based and community-based and include orthopaedic, plastic and reconstructive surgery, medical rehabilitation an orthopaedic workshop for the production of assistive devices, social work (psychological support and counselling), and Vesico – Vaginal Fistula (VVF) surgery among other services.
