CLASP Product Advisory Council (PAC) members completed a thorough review of nine adult active manual wheelchairs and adult standard wheelchairs in early September. The products were selected for review following the circulation of the first Invitation to Bid (ITB) under the second phase of the USAID-funded Consolidating Logistics for Assistive Technology Supply and Provision (CLASP) project. After the PAC review, which focused on product safety, performance, design, functionality, and quality among other established criteria; additional third-party expert input was provided by the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) .
UCP Wheels for Humanity has informed suppliers whose products were selected for the CLASP catalog and will be announcing and rolling out the updated catalog soon. Newly added products should be available for purchase in early 2019 and products that were re-selected for inclusion will be available immediately.
Additional updates to the catalog will be made early next year, when a second ITB for pediatric wheelchairs, walking aids, and cushions is circulated.
